The winners, runners-up and 3rd placed teams in the Spanish Primera Division automatically qualify for the UEFA Champions League, with the 4th placed team entering the qualifying stage of the competition. The teams finishing in 5th to 7th positions are entered into the UEFA Europa League. The teams finishing in the bottom three places will be relegated to the Spanish Segunda Division.
