Competition format:
The winners of the Russian Premier League will be entered into the UEFA Champions League, with the runners-up entered into the qualifying stages. The teams finishing in 3rd to 5th places are entered into the UEFA Europa League. The teams finishing in the bottom two places will be relegated to Russian First Division.
