Competition format:

The winners of the Polish Ekstraklasa will be entered into the UEFA Champions League qualifying stages, with the teams finishing in 2nd and 3rd place entering the UEFA Europa League. The teams finishing in the bottom two places at the end of the season will be relegated to the Polish I Liga, the second division in Poland.

Arka Gdynia, Cracovia Krakow, GKS Belchatow, Gornik Zabrze, Jagiellonia Bialystok, Korona Kielce, Lech Poznan, Lechia Gdansk, Legia Warsaw, Polonia Bytom, Polonia Warsaw, Ruch Chorzow, Slask Wroclaw, Widzew Lodz, Wisla Krakow and Zaglebie Lubin.

Recent history:

The current champions are Wisla Krakow, who won the 2010-11 Polish Ekstraklasa title by a clear distance, ahead of Slask Wroclaw in 2nd place.

Wisla Krakow are also the most successful club in the competition, with 13 titles since the competition became the Polish Ekstraklasa in 1927.
