The teams finishing in the top two places of the Korean K-League, along with the play-off winners, will be automatically entered into the AFC Champions League competition, with another place available via the FA Cup. The is no relegation to the Korean National League yet, the semi-professional division of South Korea.

Busan I'Park, Chunnam Dragons, Daegu FC, Daejeon Citizen, FC Seoul, Gangwon FC, Gwangju FC, Gyeongnam FC, Incheon United, Jeju United, Jeonbuk Hyundai Motors, Pohang Steelers, Sangju Sangmu Phoenix, Seongnam Ilhwa Chunma, Suwon Samsung Bluewings and Ulsan Hyundai.
Recent history:
The current champions are FC Seoul, who won the 2010 Korean K-League title, after defeating Jeju United 4-3 on aggregate in the final.
Seongnam Ilhwa Chunma are the most successful club in the Korean K-League, with 7 titles since the league was founded in 1983.
