Competition format:

The top six clubs at the end of the Israeli Premier League season enter a play-off competition to decide who will win the one place in the UEFA Champions League qualifying stage and who will get the two places in the UEFA Europa League 2nd and 3rd qualifying rounds. The teams finishing 7th to 10th compete in the middle play-off and the teams finishing 11th to 16th compete in the bottom play-off to decide on qualifcation and relegation to the Israeli Liga Leumit.

Beitar Jerusalem, Bnei Sakhnin, Bnei Yehuda, F.C. Ashdod, Hapoel Acre, Hapoel Ashkelon, Hapoel Be'er Sheva, Hapoel Haifa, Hapoel Petah Tikva, Hapoel Ramat Gan, Hapoel Tel-Aviv, Ironi Kiryat Shmona, Maccabi Haifa, Maccabi Netanya, Maccabi Petah Tikva and Maccabi Tel-Aviv.

Recent history:

The current champions are Maccabi Haifa, who won the 2010-11 Israeli Premier League title, ahead of Hapoel Tel-Aviv in 2nd place.

Maccabi Haifa are also the most successful club in the competition, with 7 titles since it became the Israeli Premier League in 1999.
