The winners, runners-up and 3rd placed teams in the English Premier League automatically qualify for the UEFA Champions League, with the 4th placed team entering the qualifying stage of the competition. The team finishing 5th is entered into the UEFA Europa League, with 6th and 7th positions also possible to qualify, depending on winners and runners-up in the English domestic cups. The teams finishing in the bottom three places will be relegated to the English Championship.
