The teams of the Chilean Primera Division can qualify for two international club tournaments in South America, the Copa Libertadores and the Copa Sudamericana. At the end of the season, after the Apertura and Clausura competitions, the teams finising in the bottom two positions are relegated to the Chilean Primera B.

Audax Italiano, Cobreloa, Cobresal, Colo-Colo, Deportes Iquique, Deportes La Serena, Huachipato, O'Higgins, Palestino, Nublense, Santiago Morning, Santiago Wanderers, Universidad Catolica, Universidad de Chile, Universidad de Concepcion, Union Espanola, Union La Calera and Union San Felipe.
Recent history:
The current champions are Universidad Catolica, who won the 2010 Chilean Primera Division title, 3 points ahead of Colo-Colo in 2nd place.
The most successful club in the competition are Colo-Colo, with 29 titles since the Chilean Primera Division began in 1933.
