The winners of the Austrian Bundesliga will be entered into the UEFA Champions League qualifying stages, with the 2nd and 3rd place teams entering the UEFA Europa League. The team finishing in last place will be relegated to the Erste Liga.

The current champions are Red Bull Salzburg, who won the 2009-10 Austrian Bundesliga title by just 1 point, ahead of Austria Vienna.
The most successful club in the competition are Austria Vienna, with 13 titles since the competition became the Austrian Bundesliga in 1974.
